Frequently Asked Questions About Simply Accounting Business Partner Programs

Do I need to become a Premier Advisor before becoming a Certified Consultant?
No. You do not need to become a Premier Advisor before you become a Simply Accounting Certified Consultant. Acceptance as a Certified Consultant is based solely on knowledge and aptitude.

Can I move from my existing Premier Advisor status to Certified Consultant status?
If you are an individual registered as a Simply Accounting Premier Advisor, the cost to upgrade your status to Certified Consultant is calculated by pro-rating the unused portion of your existing status, and applying that amount toward the cost of the Certified Consultant program. The testing fee is a separate cost that will be charged at the time you take the certification exam.

Is it possible to be a Premier Advisor, and have a Certified Consultant in the same company? Is it necessary?
The Premier Advisor status is attached to the company, therefore it is possible to be registered as a Premier Advisor and have one or more Certified Consultants on staff. However, it is not necessary to have a Certified Consultant on staff for a company to be a Premier Advisor.

If I leave my current employer, do I take my Certified Consultant status with me?
Yes. Since Certified Consultants are required to pass an exam, the Certified Consultant status is attached to the individual. If that individual moves to a different company, the status stays with the individual.

In contrast, the Simply Accounting Premier Advisor status is assigned to a company rather than to an individual. Premier Advisor status is specific to an organization and cannot be transferred from one company to another.
