Hi, I have set up EFT for Simply for several clients but always on local installs. I have a client now that has moved their Simply data to their server to accomodate two users. We've set the path for EFT to the new location, but when we try to generate the EFT files, it comes up with an error saying that the path doesn't exist.

Anyone have any experience with this? I just need to know if EFT for Simply can be used when the Simply data is on a server.

 EFT is not a multi-user software. 

We recommend you install EFT to the client computer.  Create EFT files on the client computer (not the server).  You can link to the Simply database on the server in the directory field but really do recommend EFT files are created and stored on the local computer where EFT was installed.

Is this how you have set up the EFT?

EFT is installed on the client computer, and so was Simply until recently  then they hired another person and wanted the Simply data on the server to accomodate two people accessing it.  I did set up the path to the Simply data in the EFT setup as the server location, but it says that the directory doesn't exist. We're not trying for multi-users of EFT, just being able to access the Simply data on the server when processing the EFT transactions from one workstation - and the EFT program and data is still on that workstation.

I would suggest installing EFT on the server, instead of the workstation, in order to keep the configuration supported (this would technically be a local install then).  I'm assuming you have checked that the directory location in the EFT Company profile is the correct, server location of the database?  If not, check that.

If necessary create a test copy of the simply database and try connecting to that.  Make sure the version in the EFT company profile is correct.

Post back and let me know if that works.  If not, we may need to create a new company in EFT and I can give you steps on how to save your employee, vendor and customer bank information.
