    Re: Restore from backup

Can you open the sample company or any other database on that Vista computer?  Where is the backup located when you try to restore it?  Windows Vista has additional security features as compared to Windows XP so that might be causing the problem.  Create a new folder on your desktop and copy the backup there.  When you try to restore the backup, restore it back to that new folder on the desktop.  Let us know if this works!

If you are restoring from network drive, don't even bother, will not work.

Copy the backup file to the C drive (or the same physical drive your SA program is) and you will have no problem to restore from it. I will also suggest to keep the customized forms in a separate from the program folders location.

     Hi Joseph,

Did you create a new folder on your desktop and restore the backup to it?  If you say that you can not find the restored file then I'm assuming that you either did not create the folder on the desktop or that you did not choose it as the location of the restored file.  When restoring the backup, you will get to a window titled "New File Name".  In this window, click on the browse button, select the folder on the desktop, and click on Save.  Go ahead and restore now.  The file should open and if it does not you should at least see it in the folder on the desktop.
