    Posting Bank Charges

    Can someone please let me know what area I am to post the monthly banking charges.

    Hi there: There are always more than one way to do anything in Simply. I don't do this type of entry in the Bank Reconciliation window. I'm sure many people do. I use the General Journal and do a Debit to the Bank Charges account and a Credit to the Bank. Since this happens every month, I store the entry in the "recurring entries" and recall it each month. Just change the date and the amount and it's done. Rita Deering

    I am nervous to open the bank reconsiliation page as I have come to understand that once you complete same you cannot undue it...is this true?

    Hi there: Don't bother trying to enter bank charges in the Bank Reconciliation section Just do an entry as i explained previously. If you want to learn more about how to do the bank rec in simply go up to the Help and ask there. If likely gives an explanation that will help you learn about it. But remember, it is strictly an option -- you don't have to do any bank reconciliations in the system. You can do bank recs by hand -- as long as YOU know the bank reconciles, that's all that matters. It is completely unnecessary to ever do a bank reconciliation in the system. So don't worry about it. Just continue to do bank recs by hand and if they reconcile you are just fine. Rita Deering
