    won't print direct deposit stubs........

    Help I need to print the stubs for employees and it will not print!  What do I do? After I post can I print the stubs?  What if someone loses theirs?

    You should be able to print the stubs after posting.

    Do you get an error when you try and print?  Or does nothing happen at all?  And are you using Custom Forms or Preprinted Forms (go to setup, settings, Reports and Forms to determine this.)  If you are using custom forms and are using the 2008 version of Simply Accounting or lower, make sure your email form type is not set to User Defined Form.  Change the Description to Direct Deposit stubs.

    Please post back with some of the details requested above.

    I normally print and then post, but this time I hit post and the system asked me  if I wanted to print unprinted stubs.  I said yes.  Went back to print but it would not print anything.  I had to close out and redo an entire payroll check run.  I have checked and we are using a Custom Simply Form, what is an email form type, I do not see that in there.  Thanks for your help this is great!

    Hello JGoodchild,

    I apologize for my delayed response (vacation called!)

    If I understand correctly you tried to print after posting but couldn't and then you redid the cheque run?  For future reference you can recall any posted entry using the Adjust Paycheque button (CTRL+A) and search by employee to recall the transaction and then try printing again.  You shouldn't need to re-do the actual processing of the entry just to print.

    Did you get the direct deposit stub printed now?

    I did get it printed.  Only after I reentered in all the entries.  It was like the system was frozen.  I will definitely keep this in mind and I thank you for your great ideas.   I do hope your holiday was good.  Thank you for your help!

    try switching to Batch Printing - you run your entire payroll and then print all your cheques or direct-deposit stubs.  it's also great when you need to reprint a direct-deposit stub because you don't have to open the payroll entry...

    If it balances on the first try, you obviously made a mistake! :)

    I am having trouble finding the batch printing.  I always wondered why we cannot reprint a lost pay stub.

    You enable batch printing under SETUP>COMPANY>FORMS and tick the "Print In Batches" box.  You can then process your entire payroll and print out your cheques and/or direct deposit stubs in a batch. You can still print a single cheque or stub from the main payroll window (though the system will "remind" you that you usually print batches).

     

    If it balances on the first try, you obviously made a mistake! :)
