Hi

I had a virus on my computer so Ihad it re-formatted. Bfore I did that though, I burned my Simply Acounting data to a CD. This included the bck up data folder and all is contents now I'm unable to open my data file.

When I try to open the data file, it continually brings me back to the open file box.

When I extract the backup files to the desktop and try that way, it does the same thing.

It continually asks me to open the file, then it syas processing, then it says creating back up then it does nothing.

Any clues as to what is wrong?

After extracting your data to your desktop, right click on it and select properties. Make sure the Read-only flag is not checked.

Yes, it was checked "read only". I have unchecked the box and it goes through the same sequence.

I double click on Simply accounting data file,

it says processing

it does nothing

Any tips?

 I assume that you're using Simply Accounting 2008.
