print out using custom form, not correct result

first time trying to printout invoice, need help please:

my invoice in SA is correct: example: quantity = 3.  price per unit = $1,000.00.  amount = $3,000.00 (using 2 decimal places)

it's correct when i print out invoice using 8.5 x 7 inch and 8.5 x 11 inch form, but i need to print invoice in blank paper. (need the complete table's lines)

but with custom form type, the printed out invoice (or in crystal report's print preview) showing : quantity = 30,000. price per unit = 10,000,000.00. amount = 300,000.00. i am using custom form, because i dont have pre-print form.

    best rgrds,

Sounds like the Crystal template has been modified to do something different.  I assume when you go to Setup, Reports & Forms, Invoices, the Form under Printer Form Settings indicates a *.rpt file but the description says User-defined form.   If so, write down what you see on this screen and then change the Description to Invoice.  This will print the invoice.rpt standard template.  Then see if the printout is correct.  If so, then the Crystal template has been modified.

In some industries, eg. printing, billing is commonly done /M so you would enter 3 instead of 3000 in the quantity column and the /M price in the unit price field.  This does not explain why you get 10 million as the unit price because the current math on the printout does not follow but it is a start to determine what is going wrong.

    Hope this helps

Re: print out using custom form, not correct result

     thanks for answering Mr. Richard,

here are steps i tried to trial and analysing:

in the Setup, Reports & Forms, Invoices. the From Type under Printer Setting already showing Custom. and the form already indicate to Invoice.RPT. i dont have User-Defined option on the Form Type.

i found this printing invoice-doesnt match problem at my office, then i took the data back to home i tried it again. as @home i already install SA and Crystal Report earlier before.

@home: it seems no problem printing the invoice, and most important is "It's Correct Match" between my invoice and the print-out invoice using the same setting as at office.

@office: i wonder if my crystal report have done anything resulting any data changing my print-out invoice, so i uninstall my crystal report. but the result are still the same, got wrong numbering (more zero 0; for exaclty: qty adding 4 zero, price adding 4 zero, and the amount adding 1 zero). it doesnt make any sense if doing the exact math is it?

@office: i've tried copying all directory of SA at home and copying in new folder at office, result is still the same, all got wrong in office and got it right in home.

And then i copied to other computer at office (this computer are never install SA and Crystal Report before), setting up "custom" form type, and to invoice.rpt. when i tried to print, it says "missing Crystal Printing Machine file........" or something like that i already forgot.

    question:

    1. how to fix this problem? do i have to uninstall all, then install again. but still wonder it could be fixed

    2. copied folder from home still resulting wrong number on print-out at office, does SA have a hidden file eg. printing machine's file at other directory?

hopefully to get fixed, please help and by the way thank you again.
