Go to Start, Printers and Faxes, select File, Server Properties and on the first tab, create a form that is 7.5x7.  Then create a new printer driver for your printer and call it Simply 7.5x7 (or anything you like - you probably meant 8.5x7 so all the above should be 8.5x7).  Then set it's form size to the new form you created.  Then in Simply, use that Simply 7.5x7 printer driver for whatever form you are trying to print under Setup, Reports & Forms.

    Hope this helps

So, you have said you are using Crystal for your template but you have not indicated which form you are printing, so let's assume you are printing an 8.5x7 cheque for Accounts Payable.

You have setup the Custom Form in the printer drivers.

Then you created a new printer driver and in the properties of that new driver you set the Advanced Options Paper Size to the new form.

Then in Simply you went to Setup, Reports & Forms, Cheques, selected the bank account and at the top under Payment Cheque Settings, you set the Printer to the new driver.

The form type is set to Custom Crystal Reports form (change the radio button to Custom Forms if it is not already set.

Change the Description to User-defined form and Browse for the form you created in Crystal.

If the form is an invoice, then change any word that refers to Cheque above, to Invoice and follow the same instructions.  Is this what you did and it still doesn't work?

The printer is set to custom form printing 8.5*7

Custom form - Form Type = Custom Crystal report form

Description : Payroll Cheque with YTD totals -Easy Align - (Whatever form i choose, then exit when i go back to setup i have the above.)

I did not create the Crystal template, rather choose it from the forms

Even when when i delete the last stub (Details C) it still jump pages

If you change the settings and then go back in and they are at default settings, then they are not changing.  Do you use the OK button to save the changes or the X in the upper-right corner to close the window.  Using the X cancels all changes and probably changes to the printer settings too.

Did you set up a new printer driver with the custom form setting so that not all your forms and reports in Simply will be 8.5x7?  Because if you made the change using the Setup button in Simply, I believe all your reports print 8.5x7 also and if this is not happening then you have not set up the settings correctly in your printer driver.  Follow the instructions I gave you before and see if that helps.

Yes- For sure i use the OK TAB. It always go back to the default. I think since i changed the form in Crystal report it became not compatible with !!

As for the printer i created a copy (Add a printer) so i use it only for cheques.

It is working now with pre-printed form 8.5*11 Easy Align

Thank you for your support and maybe i have to verify the form going back to default with SA

As long as you used version 7, 8 or 8.5 of Crystal to modify your form, Simply will understand it.  The problem is the settings are not saving for some reason.  When you use the same printer driver for reports, do you get the 7" form?  You should.  You do need to get rid of Details C to get it to work properly on a 7" form as you mentioned, but once you have done that and changed the printer driver for Payroll cheques, it should keep the settings and allow you to print.  I'm not sure what is going on here.  I've done it many times over the years and it has always worked.

    Re: Printing Cheque on 7x7

As i said, after exiting setup and goind back , it is default again. And i got rid of detail C, and it is always going back to default.

Now it is working with pre printed form, i have to find a way to save back the original form since i did the changes in the orginal directory.

    Thank you

I'm not quite sure I know what you mean by this?  When you changed your form, did you change the Reports & Forms Payroll Cheque Description to User-defined form and browse to the form you modified so that it shows in the Form box?

    Re: Printing Cheque on 7x7

When i deleted Detali C, using Crystal report, i did that on the original form in SA2008 Directory.

Now If i changed the height of detail B, maybe the form is not compatible anymore with the printer driver(8.5*7), it might cause that setting is not saving this.

It still amazing how setting is not saving my option of the form.

    Thank you,

    Re: Printing Cheque on 7x7

I never change the original forms so I cannot comment on your methodologies here.  Doing things as I have instructed will give you the desired results but I do not know why the change to your printer driver is not being saved if you change to the proper 8.5x7 driver and hit OK.  It sounds like the only thing you are really changing is the printer driver since you did not change the name of the file, so why are you expecting the form options to change and be saved?

Do not change anything in Details B.  This makes no sense for what you are trying to accomplish.
