Can not Print or use Print Preview in "Paycheques" after Update C

    Can not Print or use Print Preview in "Paycheques" after Update C

    When I am in the Paycheques and have selected and employee, I then select "Print Preview" but nothing happens, I don't even get an error message.  This also happens when I try to print the cheque.  I have made sure that in the Reports & Forms options that all the forms types are Custom Simply forms and are not "user-defined".  I can still print "Payment" cheques and even invoices but I can not print or print preview any "Payroll cheques".  I used to be able to print/print preview from the paycheques prior to the installation of update C.  I have even re-installed update C overtop of the existing update C (i can't seem to find a way to uninstall it 1st so that I can re-install it from scratch).  Can anyone help me on this????

    Go to Setup>Report & Forms>Cheques>YourCheckingAccount> .  Double check the form you have in the pane for Payroll Cheque Settings as well as the at the other settings.  Compared to the Payment Cheque Settings the only thing that should be different is the form and of course the description which should be Payroll instead of Payment

    Ya, I already stated that I have checked the Report & Forms and everything is as you said.  I still can't get it to preview or print.

    I know you stated but you did not specify the Payroll Cheque Settings.  There are at least three different payroll forms in the Forms folder.  Try using one that is different from the one you have set now in the Payroll Cheque Settings.

    I have tried everyone of the forms that are under the payroll cheque settings and none have solved the problem.  I know the problem is with the Update C cause I just tried restoring my data in another computer that has Update B only and it will print/preview in that (as it did in my original SA program before I updated to "C").  But thanks anyways...do you have any further suggestions to work with in my SA update C computer???

    When you installed the C update, did you do the automatic update from Simply or the recommended method of exiting Simply, downloading the program update from the website and then running the update while not in Simply?  If you used the automatic updates, then exit and download it again from the website and install to see if that corrects the problems.  You can search this forum and the knowledgebase and see several messages to that effect.

    Did this help? I downloaded the C update and ran the update while not in Simpy, but still have the same problem with payroll cheques. I'm wondering if I need to uninstall Simply and reinstall with the new update.

    No, it did not help!!!!  It appears that the updates are not the problem as I have uninstalled and reinstalled Simply several times trying several different things and I still have problems using the print or print preview.  The problem actually occurs after I shut down Simply after a new installation.  Ex:  I reinstalled simply with just the B update (I also tried with the C update) and opened Simply and then enter the ID to unlock the Payroll and then went to payroll – when I select and employee and go to print/print preview it works and continues to work until I shut down Simply.  We I go to restart Simply, even the same day, and then go to payroll and select and employee, I try to click on the print/print preview and absolutely nothing happens!!!!!!  Why is this???  Any clue??

    We found the same problem - it worked until you shut down Simply then when we restarted it, the paycheque wouldn't work - print preview or print. Phoned Simply AGAIN, they had to do a remote fix which took about 3 hours. They assure us it has nothing to do with Update C, but I've never had these problems before! It is now working properly, even after closing & restarting Simply. I agree, I think it may be the temporary payroll id - I requested it 3 days ago, 2 days ago it said I only had 35 days left on it, even though it's a 60 day trial. Yesterday Simply didn't have record of our temporary subscription. Fingers crossed, it keeps working.

    As a follow up, we haven't had a problem since this fix.
